The Northern Regional Security Council (REGSEC ) has urged for calm among the people of Dagomba and Nanumba.
There has been a land boundary dispute between the people of Dagbon and Nanung over the rightful owner of a village called Jegbeni.
The issue nearly resulted in a fight between the two kingdoms.
The Overlord of Dagbon, Yaa-Naa Abubakari Mahama II extended an invitation to his brother, the Overlord of Nanung for an amicable resolution but the meeting ended inconclusively.
Due to this, some individuals in Nanung have allegedly been making some pronouncements against the Mion Lana and the people of Dagbon.
The pronouncement made in an audio recording is said to have gone viral thus threatening the security of the area.
REGSEC in a bid to resolve the issue issued a statement calling on the chiefs and people of the two Kingdoms to exercise restraint as it takes steps to address the issue amicably.
The statement also said the perpetrators trying to ferment trouble in the area would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
