The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in Sunyani has benefited from a disinfection exercise from Zoomlion Ghana Limited in collaboration with Citi TV.
The University is one of the universities in the country to have benefited from such a gesture.
The exercise which started around 7 am lasted close to three hours and was undertaken by 80 personnel from Zoomlion.
Forger machines, boom sprayers and solo machines were used in the exercise. They disinfected the compound, lecturer theatres, offices, hotels, among others.
The General Manager for Zoomlion Ghana Limited for the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions, Esther Abayeta speaking to Citi News on the exercise said after supporting the disinfection of various markets in the region, the company decided to disinfect the University of Energy and Natural Resources.
“We are disinfecting UENR because it is a place where many people normally gather. We want the students to be safe after the school reopens,” she noted.
The Acting University Relations Officer of the University, David Twumasi Ankrah in an interview with Citi News was impressed with how things had gone.
Mr. Ankrah noted that it would go a long way to reduce infections in the University.
He noted that the University would re-strategise to disinfect the institution at the beginning and the end of every semester.
The Bono Regional Office of the National Health Insurance Scheme, as well as the offices of both Sunyani Municipal and Sunyani West were all disinfected.
