We declare our unflinching support to the Electoral Commission of Ghana in the conduct of their constitutionally mandated duties and unequivocally condemn any act by unscrupulous people to jeopardise its work. We call on all well-meaning Ghanaians, especially the youth to frown and reject any attempt to maim people and brutalise the electoral process.
The Electoral Commission, being an independent body, works in accordance with the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana supported by the Constitutional Instrument (CI 126), therefore, any intention to intimidate such an astute body could lead to great misfortunes to our enviable democracy. The NDC, their journalists and so-called pastors should, as a matter of urgency, desist from their abusive attacks, threats and unfounded lies targeted at the EC. It is clear the NDC has nothing to offer the country and would wish the country plunged into chaos.
Ghanaians, particularly, the youth are discerning enough not to follow the reckless pronouncements of the NDC and their apparatchiks to instigate unrest in our beautiful country.
We are by this urging the National Peace Council, Religious Leaders, Chiefs and the media to set an agenda for peace to protect our fledgling democracy and the lives of all Ghanaians, especially the vulnerable.
We also ask the security forces to intensify their intelligence to track and deal with individuals and groups of people who are plotting to destroy the country before, during and after this electioneering period.
We congratulate the Electoral Commission for their continuous professionalism in terms of posture and tact demonstrated so far.
Finally, we are by this encouraging all Ghanaians especially the youth to massively register to vote. Vote for a party that continues to propel Ghana to stability, prosperity and development. That party is the New Patriotic Party led by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Ghana will win.
God Bless our Homeland Ghana and make her great and strong.
