The Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has officially ended her campaign tours across the country ahead of the 2020 polls.
She ended her campaign with tours of the Central and Western regions.
She visited key constituencies in both regions making a case for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to be given the nod in the upcoming polls.
She entreated constituents to vote John Mahama into office as President and also all National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidates.
At a town hall meeting in Cape Coast earlier this week, she said a vote for John Mahama is a vote to rescue the country from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government to create a prosperous future for Ghanaians.
“We should never forget that the country belongs to those who have passed on, those who are here, and those who are yet to come and that is why this election is so important, it is no longer just about politics. It is about fighting for the soul of this country, and we cannot give up. We cannot afford to betray the toil of all our ancestors and the dream of our future generations. Let us make this very clear that we the people, regardless of where we come from, and again including generations unborn, we are the real owners of Ghana and the beneficiaries of all its resources,” she said.
“We cannot afford to fail, when we show up on December 7, we are not only voting to replace a government in whom people have been very disappointed, we are voting to save the country, the future of our children and our children’s children. I urge all of you to show up at your polling station, stand in the queue to make sure you cast your vote and watch what happens,” she added.
Meanwhile, her campaign team in a statement said “Professor Opoku-Agyemang in the course of her campaign, toured all sixteen regions of the country. She engaged with Traditional Authorities, People Living with Disabilities, Youth Groups, Women Groups, Professional Groups, Farmers, Fisherfolk, Religious Leaders, Traders, The Media, Civil Society Organizations, etc.”
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s campaign was supported by Alex Segbefia, former Minister of Health, Ms. Emelia Arthur, former Deputy Western Regional Minister, Mustapha Abubakar former Deputy CEO of MASLOC, and Mrs. Mawuena Trebarh, former CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC).
Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, successfully ended her official campaign activities with tours of the Central and Western Regions.
The last six days have seen her wrap up interactions with key constituents highlighting various elements of the NDC’S People’s Manifesto, that offered solutions to the many challenges they have faced in the last four years under the current NPP government.
Ghana goes to the polls on December 7, 2020.
