The top ten finalists of The Literacy Challenge organised by Citi FM have begun their boot camp as they gear up for the grand finale on Saturday, September 18, 2021.
The finalists on day one of the three-day camp toured the premises of Citi FM/Citi TV in Adabraka, Accra.
The tour was to make the contestants familiarize themselves with the operations of the media house. They were taken to all departments of the station and briefed on the specific roles of each that culminate into the solid media brand.
In addition, the first day had a coaching session on ‘Know your Worth’ and ‘Skills for Effective Public Speaking’.
The coaches, Letitia Ohene-Effah and Eugenia Tachie-Menson led the contestants through multiple confidence-boosting activities.
The Literacy Challenge seeks to identify and reward the most outstanding ‘all-round’ JHS student in Ghana.
All ten finalists will be competing in a classic quiz competition on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the Alisa Hotel.
The event is strictly by invitation.
Citi FM has assured that all COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed during the period.
The winner of the quiz walks away with a whopping GHS 10,000 as well as other prizes from the sponsors.
This year, interested participants wrote an essay on the topic: “As an aspiring presidential candidate, in not less than 600 words, write a convincing manifesto speech that is intended to fix the country and to bring hope in political governance.”
The competition is powered by 97.3 Citi FM, with support from Citi TV.
The Literacy Challenge is sponsored by SIC Insurance and the Vodafone Ghana Foundation as part of the Kindred Partners.
