Even though members of the New Patriotic Party have myriads of concerns and reservations about John Boadu’s administration and leadership style, one major disturbing issue is his habitual absence from the party’s headquarters. Whilst for some this has been a real experience, others receive it with some doubts. The contention over this development has finally been brought to rest by the General Secretary, John Boadu, himself.

Answering a question about his habitual absence from the Party Headquarters on “Badwam,” a morning show on Adom TV on Monday, 9th May, 2022, John Boadu intimated, “The task of the General Secretary is too burdensome.” This admission is enough motivation for John Boadu to honourably bow out of the General Secretary contest.

By that admission on Adom TV, the General Secretary, John Boadu, proves so conceited with power to the extent that his long stay at the party’s headquarters is mistaken for his ownership of the NPP.

The party must simply understand that JB has exhausted his contributions to the NPP. After all the investments made in him, as he publicly and confidently claims, he has given back enough to the party. John Boadu’s continuous stay in office as the General Secretary is now a recipe for disaster — the party risks breaking the 8 with ease with him. It is undeniably clear that John Boadu’s marginal output has sharply and drastically declined. With his gradual corruption by the opportunity to serve, the present effect of his administration on the NPP is worrying and unpleasant. This is an alarming development considering the critical nature of the office he holds.

His confession proves that he has never been serious with the work of the General Secretary. It is therefore no longer a mystery why apathy within the party keeps deepening from unresolved issues and concerns from party faithful. He has proven that it is not the work that matters to him, but his self-seeking interests.

His own words make finding a replacement for him so urgent. And this is the very moment to make that happen. Remove John Boadu to save NPP’s interest! “The old order must change, yielding place to new,” in order to preserve our customs and traditions that are currently being corrupted under John Boadu.

On the subject matter of the task and responsibilities of the General Secretary, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua (JFK), shared a contradictory sentiment. In an interview granted Osei Bonsu (OB), the host of the “Ekosiisen Program” on Asempa 94.7 FM, an Accra-based radio station, the purpose-driven Lawyer, Justin Frimpong Kodua, indicated, “The General Secretary’s work is a full-time job according to our party’s constitution, and I solemnly pledge to do exactly that in accordance with the provisions in our constitution.” “I will always be available to listen to the concerns of party members, executives, and NPP Members of Parliament as a General Secretary,” he added.

From their recent public submissions, it is obvious to conclude that not only does Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua have the desired qualities, and the “big spread’’ but also he is more prepared to lead the New Patriotic Party as General Secretary to break the 8-year political jinx.
