Private legal practitioner, Martin Kpebu has lashed out at the youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for disregarding the three-day protest organised by the pressure group, Democracy Hub.
The NPP youth organizer, Salam Mustapha in a statement stressed that it was difficult for him to take home the most salient reason and demand for the protest which was held by democracy hub for three days.
According to him, the demand was the usual rhetoric of fix the road, motorway, cost of living and other tangential, which borders on politics.
But reacting to this, Martin Kpebu who joined the protest said the youth organizer is running from the truth about government’s mismanagement of the economy.
“It is a democracy so sometimes people will say things that that they know are not obviously true. They are laying ostrich that the there is no basis for the demonstration. But you see sometimes we don’t have to play ostrich. When people are hungry sometimes, we shouldn’t play with such matters,” he said .
Mr Kpebu further noted that several demonstrations will be conducted in the coming days.
“The protest must continue. We must have more. And in actual fact in November, we are going to do the Kume preko reloaded the 2023 version so there will be another demonstration. Don’t forget the NDC itself is organizing a demonstration on the 3rd of October so we need to have more of this because President Akufo-Addo himself has said that he is not up to the task. So, the best is for he and Bawumia to step down then we will have fresh elections quickly,” he stated.
