The Akosombo Dam spillage has caused approximately 31,000 people to be relocated, the majority of whom are in the Volta Region.
The worst-affected districts are South, Central, and North Tongu.
Amidst the devastation, there have been heartwarming stories of compassion and generosity. One such story is that of the pupils at Vehem Mawunyo International School in Dzodze, who, along with the founders of Heavenly Integrity Mission and Smilet, visited some of the severely affected areas to provide aid and comfort to the victims.
The pupils were deeply moved by the stories of the flood victims, especially the school children.
They immediately organized a collection of food, rice, clothes, toiletries, and drinking water, which they delivered to the affected communities on Saturday, October 28th, 2023.
Their goal is to inspire others to provide a helping hand by bringing attention to the community’s persistent problems. Every little contribution matters in assisting these defenceless and in-need people.
