An aspiring Member of Parliament for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Fanteakwa South, Nana Alhaji Abdul Razak, has donated an emergency care ambulance to the Fanteakwa South district in the Eastern region.
The donation was made to help improve the emergency care delivery system in the area.
During the donation programme held at Tokyo City in Nsutam, Nana Alhaji Abdul Razak said the area is prone to accidents, so there is a need to support them on this side.
“Fanteakwa South district is a hotspot for road accidents, so when I heard their ambulance had broken down, I was moved to lend a helping hand,” he said.
The district health director of the area, Mrs. Margaret Nyarko, spoke about some of the challenges they have faced when the main government ambulance in the area broke down and how this new one will reduce the heavy toll.
“Today is a happy day for the health fraternity in Fanteakwa. We have faced a lot of difficulties since our national ambulance vehicle had an accident in March. It was hard for us to transport especially pregnant women. Thank God, this new ambulance will provide a solution,” she said.
The Eastern region Administrative Manager of the National Ambulance Service, PAEMT Michael Gaani, who stepped in for their CEO, Prof. Ahmed Nuhu Zakariah, thanked Nana Alhaji Abdul Razak for this kind-hearted act and urged others to emulate this kind of gesture.
The Fanteakwa National Ambulance had an accident with a stray cow in March 2023 while on its way to an emergency, leaving the station vacant.
