In anticipation of the December 31, 2023 watch night services, some churches in major towns in Ghana have mounted giant billboards and posters.
The churches believe the billboards and posters are important mediums to promote their activities, to attract new members on the night. Given this, some churches spend huge sums of money to mount such structures.
While some churches resort to the printing of artworks announcing their programs scheduled for the 31-night vigil, others use huge, medium and small boards.
Citinewsroom.com combed Accra and stumbled upon some billboards with interesting yet intriguing themes coined by some churches.
Some of the themes include: “Escaping into 2024,” “Change Over,” “Crossing Over,” “Jumping Over,” “About to Cross,” “Prophetic Watch Night,” “Transitioning into 2024,” and “Galloping Over,” among others.
The churches, whether Pentecostal, Charismatic, Orthodox, or spiritual, try as much as possible to place their billboards at vantage points in town.
The churches usually mark the day with thanksgiving and praises to their Maker for His protection and guidance throughout the year [2023] and ushering them into the new year.
Some men of God also use the occasion to deliver several prophecies.
