The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) says it is working to resolve interruptions in water supply to the Kumasi Metropolis.
In a statement issued on Thursday, it said the interruptions were due to a technical challenge encountered at the Barekese Water Treatment Plant, which had necessitated its shutdown to enable engineers to rectify the challenge.
The company assured customers and the public that production would resume immediately after the work was completed.
“The Management of Ghana Water Limited (GWL) ASHANTI PRODUCTION REGION wishes to inform its cherished customers and the public of the interruptions in the water supply to Kumasi Metropolis. This is due to a technical challenge encountered at the Barekese Water Treatment Plant, which has necessitated the shutdown to enable the engineers to rectify the challenge. A team of GWL ENGINEERS is working assiduously to resolve the challenge.”
“Management assures customers and the public that production will resume immediately after the work is completed. Management appreciates the support of the public and regrets the inconvenience this may cause. The company advised customers to use the available water judiciously until work is completed.”
