MODEC/JILMEC Company Limited has donated an amount of GH¢123,000 to boost Citi FM/Citi TV’s relief efforts in places affected by the Akosombo dam spillage.
Representatives of the company indicated that management and staff were moved by the suffering of the people impacted by the spillage of the dam, and thus decided to support.
They said the gesture forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
Maintenance and Reliability Manager of MODEC/JILMEC, Arko Amegah, on Tuesday’s edition of the Citi Breakfast Show on Citi FM, said that the benevolent gesture is to complement Citi FM/Citi TV’s relief efforts for the affected people.
“Our mission here is very simple; we heard of the work you are doing regarding the Akosombo Dam spillage, and as corporate citizens and an institution in Ghana, we thought that we should come in and play our part and donate to support this cause. This is part of our social corporate responsibility, so we are donating GH¢123,000 to support the cause.”
MODEC/JILMEC’s Maintenance and Reliability Manager, the Integrated Systems lead for MODEC/JILMEC, William Agyei Darkwa, and the acting general manager for MODEC/JILMEC, Priscilla Inkoom, presented a cheque which was received by the Managing Director of Citi FM/Citi TV, Samuel Attah-Mensah.
Mr. Attah-Mensah thanked the company and assured that the donation would be put to good use and would be channelled into reconstructing a market that was gravely affected by the spillage at Asesewa-Akaten.
“A big thank you to MODEC/JILMEC and partners for this donation. Just when you thought that you were all alone by yourself and just when you thought that everybody had forgotten about the situation, then pops up this donation, so we are thankful for this donation.”
