The Jirapa Youth Association has lamented the murder of the owner of the Royal Cosy Hills Hotel, Eric Johnson, popularly known as Jirapa Duba, describing it as an incident tantamount to setting the town back fifty years in history.
The renowned businessman was murdered and discovered in his room within the hotel on Sunday, February 11.
During a press conference on Tuesday, the youth group likened the killing to a stabbing in the heart with a dagger and called on the police to expedite their investigations and apprehend the businessman’s murderers, dealing with them in accordance with the law.
“His death is devastating, especially to the youth, as he was our inspiration and hope. The murderers have pierced a dagger through our hearts, and we appreciate the swift response of the police and the entire national security apparatus. With utmost humility, we urge them to accelerate their investigations and bring the perpetrators to justice. We are ready to assist in any way possible and want to affirm our trust and support for the ongoing investigation.”
“Tears and words cannot express our pain and the harm that has been done with the killing. We condemn the barbaric and cruel murder unequivocally; however, this dastardly act will set Jirapa back 50 years.”
