Authorities at the Takyikrom D/A Basic School in the Akrofuom District in the Ashanti Region have taken delivery of essential teaching and learning materials to aid in the improvement of quality education.
The gesture by ASA Savings and Loans Limited is part of efforts to enhance educational opportunities and support public education. Items the school received include; ten (10) dual desks, five hexagonal tables, 30 KG chairs, six white marker boards, 120 customized exercise books, four boxes of pens, three boxes of pencils, two boxes of board markers, three boxes of sharpeners, and three boxes of erasers.
The Dunkwa Branch Manager for ASA Savings and Loans, James Owusu said there was a need to complement Government’s efforts in improving the learning environment for students and assisting teachers in their daily instructional duties.
He expressed the financial institution’s readiness and dedication to supporting educational initiatives in public schools, especially in rural and vulnerable communities.
Mr Owusu added “The donation is to support the efforts of the teaching staff and improve learning outcomes.”
The Bekwai Area Manager for the company, Samuel Sekyi Odame, emphasized that the gesture also forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
“We are committed to partnering with public schools to enhance the quality of education across the country,” he added.
He said ASA Savings and Loans Limited supported several public schools and health facilities throughout the year and hopes that these efforts will lead to improved service delivery for the community.
The Headmistress of Takyikrom D/A Basic School, Mrs. Monica Aba Dontoh expressed gratitude for the gesture emphasizing the need for other organizations and individuals to follow ASA Savings and Loans’ example in supporting public schools.
She further said, “We are thankful for ASA Savings and Loans’ support, which will help alleviate some of our challenges and enable us to provide a better learning experience for our students,” she said.
She pledged that the school would use the resources for the purpose for which they were donated to them.
The donation marks a significant step toward creating a better learning environment for the students of Takyikrom D/A Basic School.
