Donald Trump’s criminal trial in New York will enter its next phase, with opening arguments to begin.
Trump is accused of trying to cover up a $130,000 (£104,300) hush-money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels before he won the 2016 election.
He has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records and also denies having an affair with Daniels.
The first week of the hush-money trial focused on selecting a jury of 12 people – with many ruled out because of potential bias.
David Pecker, former publisher of the National Enquirer who bought and buried damaging stories about Trump, is expected to be the first witness for the prosecution.
This is the first time a US president – current or former – has faced a criminal trial.
Trump is also accused by prosecutors of breaching a gag order designed to stop him attacking those involved in the case.
