The Government has announced a significant increase in the annual Continuous Professional Development (CPD) allowance for teachers in pre-tertiary schools.

Professional teachers will now receive GHC2,400, up from GHC1,200, while non-professional teachers will receive GHC1,200, an increase from GHC800.

The Ministry of Education made this announcement in a statement released on Monday, September 30.

The Ministry of Education confirmed that payments for the increased allowances have been disbursed to eligible teachers.

“The CPD allowance for professional teachers has been increased from GH1,200 to GHC2,400 annually.

“Non-professional teachers will now receive GHC1,200 up from GHC800. Payments for these revised amounts have already been made to teachers.”

The Ministry emphasized that these enhancements demonstrate the government’s dedication to fostering professional growth and skills development, aligning with its commitment to investing in human capital.
