The Electoral Commission (EC) has assured Ghanaians of its readiness to deliver a smooth, transparent, and credible electoral process. An estimated 18,774,159 registered voters are expected to cast their ballots at 40, 648 polling stations nationwide.
This election, regarded as one of the most closely watched in recent history, serves as a significant test of Ghana’s democracy—often celebrated as one of Africa’s most stable.

Tema West
The Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Tema West Constituency, James Enu, has expressed confidence in winning this year’s parliamentary seat.
According to him, indicators suggest that the NDC has made significant inroads into traditional strongholds of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) within the constituency.
Speaking to the media at the collation centre at the Tema Secondary School Assembly Hall, Mr. Enu described the electoral process as smooth and peaceful, despite minor challenges encountered by party agents and presiding officers.
Twifo Praso
David Theophilus Dominic Vondee, parliamentary candidate for NDC in the Twifo Ati Morkwa constituency has entered the collation center at Twifo Praso. Many supporters of the NDC candidate have been jubilating around the centre for the past 3 hours.
Final results for both parliamentary and presidential are yet to be declared as collation is still ongoing at the collation centre.
Okaikwei
Inspector General of Police, Dr Akuffo-Dampare and his entourage arrive at the Okaikwei Central Collation Centre at the Ghana Communication Technology University, to observe the collation process.
Ernest Adomako, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, just arrived at the J. K Akonuah Hall, the collation centre at the Okaikwei South Constituency. Ernest Adomako closely monitors the pink sheets from various polling stations alongside EC officials.
EC Headquarters
Electoral Commissioner, Jean Mensa exchanged pleasantries with representatives of political parties and independent presidential candidates at the National Collation Centre.
Pusiga
Supporters of incumbent NDC MP Hajia Lardi Ayamba have thronged the collation centre in anticipation of the results being declared in her favour.
Okaikwei
Sorting and counting are underway at Center 1 at the St. Theresa’s School in the Okaikwei South Constituency.
Tema
EC officials have begun sorting the ballots for counting purposes at the Baptist International church polling station B Cambonia within the Tema-West.
A fight broke out between a member of the NDC and NPP in the Odododiodio constituency at the Akanmajen palace in Jamestown, resulting in the injury of the NPP member.
According to Davis Nunoo, the NDC member involved, the altercation started when the NPP member crumpled a sample voter’s register belonging to the NDC party agent and hit him in the face.
Nunoo claimed this act sparked his anger, leading him to punch the NPP member in the face.
However calm has been restored with the voting process ongoing.
Garu
Madam Georgia Laadi Azumah parliamentary candidate for NPP in the Garu constituency after casting her vote and speaking to journalists expressed displeasure regarding acts of intimation following the renewed chieftaincy dispute in Bawku.
Former Council of State Member and CEO of Ideal Finance, Dr. Nii Kotei Dzani, has expressed optimism about the return of former President John Dramani Mahama.
He emphasized that, in his view, the former President must do everything possible to ease economic difficulties.
Dr. Dzani made these remarks while speaking to Citi News after casting his ballot at Lolonya in the Sege Constituency.
Ejura
The NPP’s Parliamentary candidate for the Ejura Sekyeredumasi constituency, Gifty Ndomah, has expressed concern over the low voter turnout observed so far as she visits various polling centres.
However, she remains optimistic that turnout will improve by evening and is confident of securing victory by the end of the polls
Cape Coast
The incumbent MP for Cape Coast South Ricketts Hagan is done casting his vote at the twi Ndzi twi House Gegem 1 polling station. He indicated that, so far, the places he has visited have been smooth and believes he will be retained.
Okaikwei
Alhaji Haruna Rafik, NPP 1st Vice Chairman In Okaikwei Central accuses the police of refusing to give them protection amidst the chaos that broke out between the NPP and NDC at the Abeka NPP party office.
Special aide to former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has expressed confidence in Mahama winning this year’s election, despite attempts to manipulate the process.
Speaking to the media, Joyce Bawah Mogtari emphasized that she is certain of a clear victory for the former president.
Pusiga
Some polling stations in the Pusiga Constituency of the Upper East Region are experiencing long queues of people standing to exercise their franchise.
This is due to the delays in the start of the exercise within those areas. The district electoral commission officer Ruhiyatu Iddi who declined to speak on camera explained, that the delays were caused by the inability of their vehicles to deliver the electoral materials to the polling stations on time.
These delays have affected most of the remote polling stations in the Pusiga Constituency, especially the Widana and Kulugungu areas.
However, polling stations within the Pusiga township did not experience any delays.
Awutu Senya East
Parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Awutu Senya East Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunnor has voted at the Steps to Christ Centre.
The Steps to Christ Centre witnessed some gun violence in the 2020 elections nearly destroying the elections process.
However, the Parliamentary candidate says she has learnt her lesson from the 2029 elections and is hopeful of a 68% victory.
On December 6, the Parliamentary candidate called for additional security in the areas that had been tagged as flash points in the constituency, adding that she is yet to see the additional security detail in the constituency.
Chaos erupts at Asawase after Manaf Ibrahim refused to jump queue to vote
Okaikwei South
One person has been arrested at the St. Theresa’s School polling station after verbally attacking an EC official earlier before voting commenced at Center 2 in the Okaikwei South Constituency
Following a tip-off after the altercation, it was discovered that the individual, an NDC party agent, was carrying a pistol.
The police have arrested the individual and transported him to the Kaneshie Police Station.
Tamale
MP for Tamale Central, Murtala Mohammed, has expressed satisfaction with the voting process so far, hoping for violent free elections in his area which is known to be a hot spot in the northern region.
Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro
The absence of a parliamentary stamp that caused a delay in the voting process at the Langma 2A Polling Station within Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro has been replaced.
According to the presiding officer at the station, Stephen Boateng voting rather started at 7.30 am. He, however, noted that the process has been smooth since the incident happened.
Meanwhile, about 383 voters are expected to cast their ballots.
Tema West
The Tema West Youth Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jones Klutse, has raised concerns about delays and shortages of electoral materials in parts of the Tema West constituency.
According to Mr. Klutse, the situation is affecting the smooth conduct of electoral activities in the area. He is therefore urging the Electoral Commission (EC) to address these challenges promptly to ensure a fair and efficient electoral process.
Tema East
Streetlights alleged to have cameras attached to them have been removed by security personnel at the St. Peter’s Catholic School voting centre in the Tema East Constituency.
This incident has highlighted tensions at the polling stations.
The NPP Chairman for Tema East narrates allegations of lights embedded with cameras in all polling stations in the Tema East Constituency at the blind side of the EC.
Amasaman
The Presiding Officer at the Presbyterian Church Polling Station in the Amasaman Constituency, Ransford Sowah says voting is going on smoothly even though voters are not trooping in their numbers.
According to him, less than 100 electorates have come to cast their ballot out of the 440 registered voters.
However, he says he is optimistic that voters will come in later in the day.
There has been a slight altercation at the Presbyterian Church polling station where a gentleman purporting himself as a party agent was denied access to the premises because he didn’t have a tag to prove his identity.
This caused an argument between the presiding officer and the man who was hesitant to vacate the premises.
The situation was however managed immediately by the Police. The Presiding Officer has refused to speak on the cause of the argument.
Nima
A voter returned a presidential ballot paper claiming to have made a mistake in voting for a candidate, not of her choice, at the Nima JSS 1 Polling Station.
EC officials issued a different ballot paper with agreement from party agents present and marked the initial ballot as a spoilt ballot.
Ningo Prampram
Voting has commenced at the SHAMMAH School Complex, which has been divided into two sections: SHAMMAH School Complex A and SHAMMAH School Complex B. While voting began at Complex B at 7:26 AM, Complex A has experienced delays due to issues with their machines, and voting is yet to start there.
La Dadekotopon
Party agents fix their seals on the ballot box for the Base 622 polling station in the La Dadekotopon constituency. Voting has commenced.
Nima
Polling stations opened promptly at 7 am for voting, the first voter had yet to cast his/her ballot at the Nima JSS 1 Polling station.
The verification device failed to recognise the identities of the voters, despite their names being listed in the voters’ register. EC officials later resolved the issue.
Tempani
Residents of Kpikpira in the Tempani Constituency queue at the Kpikpira JHS Polling Station ‘A’ and ‘B’ waiting to cast their Votes. Over 740 Registered Voters are expected to cast their votes in this Constituency.
New Juaben
Voting is underway in most parts of the Eastern Region as electoral materials arrived on time. At the Methodist Chapel A and B polling station in the New Juaben South Constituency, preferential treatment is being given to voters above 70 years and persons with disabilities.
South Suntreso
Voting has begun at the KCC primary lower South Suntreso polling station.
Asante Akim North

Bawumia votes in Walewale
In Parts of the Greater Accra Region, voters have been spotted in queues at some of the country’s polling stations, awaiting the Electoral Commission (EC) officials to set up the polling stations and commence polls to enable them to cast their votes.
Greater Accra Region
Channel One News’ Elizabeth Ocansey reported that as of 4:30 a.m., voters in the Tema West Constituency have begun queuing at the Great Counsellor International School polling station to cast their ballots.
Okaikwei Central Constituency Abeka E.P Church polling centre, voters started queuing at 4: 23 am.
Voters were already in the queue at Church of Pentecost Taifa Central Polling Station 4 in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency at 4:39 am.
Channel One News’ Adwoa Tenkorama reported that a voter from Pobiman in the Ga West Municipality who arrived at the polling station said she picked “dropping” with her children to get there early enough.

As of 4:48 a.m., voters in the Tema West Constituency had begun queuing at the Great Counsellor International School polling station to cast their ballots.
Speaking to Channel One News, some elderly voters shared their desire to vote early to avoid long queues and have time to rest later in the day.

Two elderly men, Felix Deiior, aged over 70, and Daniel Adrah, shared their reasons for arriving early in an interview with Citi News/Channel One TV.
According to them, voting early helps them avoid the stress of long queues and allows them to rest for the remainder of the day.

Preparations are in full swing at the Little Angels School polling station, one of the designated centres for the Okaikwei North Constituency.
Early voters at the centre have shared their thoughts with Channel One News, highlighting their reasons for arriving early and stressing the significance of this year’s election to them.

Voters at Base 622, one of the polling centres in the La Dadekotopon constituency have expressed concerns about delays in the setup of election materials.
They fear this could lead to a delayed start of the polls, which are scheduled to begin at 7 a.m.

Some voters are queuing and waiting patiently to cast their votes at the St. Theresa’s School polling centre in the Okaikwei South Constituency.

Four centers are being set up at the Nii So what Din 1 & 2 Basic School, Nmai Djorn. Agents have been sighted as well as voters.
Security personnel are currently on-site at the Adentan Municipal Assembly.

Voters queue at Freeman Methodist Church Ofankor in the Trobu Constituency to cast their ballot and EC officials and Party Agents go through various cross-checks.
Five centres have been set up at the St. THERESA’S SCHOOL, and party agents, EC Officials and security personnel are all spotted around.
The Election materials arrived at the Ablorh Adjei Opposite Welder 1 polling station at 6:20 am. The place is being set up for voting.

Voting is scheduled to begin at 7:00 AM at St. Theresa’s School in the Okaikwei South Constituency.

Ashanti Region
Channel One News’ Bright Yeboah in an interview with Sarah Ntiriwaah, from the CBM Shell Polling Station in the Asante Akim North Constituency, shared that she arrived as early as 3 am.
An Electoral Officer cordoned off the Fantehene polling centre at Aboabo in the Asawase Constituency.

She explained that her primary motivation for coming so early is the future of her children and grandchildren, which she considers her top priority when casting her vote.
Channel One News’ Ashanti Regional Correspondent, Hafiz Tijani reported that constituents of Asawase are preparing to take part in the Presidential and Parliamentary elections as scores have begun forming queues at their respective polling centres for the exercise.
Electoral materials have begun arriving at some of the polling centres.
Northern Region
Channel One News’ Shawana Yussif, reported that EC officials are setting up at the 1st November polling station in the Sagnarigu Constituency with people waiting for the start of polls to cast their ballot.
Election materials arrive at Gurugu Riyad Sualihi E/A Primary “B”, with voters already in the queue waiting to cast their votes.
A total of 439 voters are expected to cast their ballot.
