The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has pledged the Corporation’s commitment to continuously invest in projects located in the Ashanti Region to bring the needed benefits to the inhabitants of beneficiary communities.
He stated that the aim of the GNPC Foundation was to empower Ghanaian youth and have a positive impact on the lives of many Ghanaians.
Since 2017, the GNPC has supported the development of social projects in parts of the country funded by Ghana’s oil resources. At least 100 projects in the education and health sectors have been established by the GNPC Foundation in the Ashanti region.
The Foundation has also implemented employment models and schemes to support young Ghanaians in the area of job creation.
Speaking to journalists in Kumasi, the GNPC CEO, Joseph Abuabu Dadzie, reiterated the Corporation’s commitment to investing in and continuing its projects located in the region.
He stated, “The GNPC Foundation will continue with the projects initiated in the region to ensure they benefit the youth and people of the Ashanti region.”
A delegation from the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), including its new Chief Executive and Board Chairman, visited the Manhyia Palace to pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene and to send a goodwill message as part of the silver jubilee celebrations.
Meanwhile, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II urged the new management of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) to adopt strategic measures aimed at revamping and strengthening operations at the institution.
A new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead operations in overseeing activities in the upstream sector of the petroleum industry.
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, while commending the efforts of management and the new CEO of GNPC, urged them to adopt sustainable measures to promote their operations.
He added, “The President saw potential in you and brought you back. Ensure to institute projects and measures that would promote operations at the business.”
Otumfuo says management will be praised if these measures lead to a booming business that intends to rake in economic benefits for the country.
“GNPC is dear to me and the nation. It is one of the strongest pillars of the country that could help in the development of Ghana,” the Asantehene underscored.
