Verna Purified Water, a subsidiary of Twellium Industrial Company Limited, has donated assorted products and an undisclosed amount of money to the family of eighteen-year-old autistic twins, Edwin and Marvin Atta Dennis.
This kind gesture follows a report filed by Citi News’ Kate Wodenya Amenyikor, highlighting the marginalization of autistic children in Ghana and the need for improved awareness, inclusivity, and an end to their stigmatization.
The donated items included water, breakfast cereal biscuits, and other snacks from the company.
The company pledged to supply the family with its assorted products for the next two months.
Diana Ayivor, the mother of the twins, who was lost for words for the company’s kind gesture, also acknowledged the items and expressed her gratitude for the support.
She said, “On behalf of myself and my family, I want to say a very big thank you to Verna. I wasn’t expecting anything like this. Thank you. I am so grateful.”
Edwin, one of the twins, who is an artist, in his appreciation, drew the logo of Verna Mineral Water. He also spoke with Citi News expressing his happiness with the support.
Meanwhile, the Brands Manager of Verna Purified Water, Kojo Siaw, also spoke with Citi TV, emphasising the company’s commitment to supporting autism in Ghana.
He urged Ghanaians to continue patronising the company’s products to aid their pursuits.
“We saw the publication on Citi TV. So we decided that as a business, one of our key points is to share love and already we have been running campaigns that support autistic children. So we decided to let us get some cash and products to support them.
“There are other things we do for autistic children, so this is just an add-on that we are doing. So as a business, we are saying that if you buy a bottle of Verna or any of our products, it means that some of the money goes back into helping these autistic children. So go out there and grab any of our products,” he stated.
