The Ministry of Health has reaffirmed its dedication to finishing the La General Hospital project on schedule.
The government has successfully obtained 50 million euros through local alternative sources to revive the long-delayed project.
Despite the looming deadline of 22 months for completion, progress stands at just 20%, with the majority of the structural phase nearing completion.
But during an inspection visit, the Health Minister, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, reiterated the government’s pledge to release funds promptly and ensure the project’s timely completion.
He declared, “…We are committed. We’ll make sure that we get the support, the releases to be on the project within the 28 months period. They started in January. So, from January to now we have some number of months gone already. My prayer is that I will be part of the commissioning of this project and all of us should monitor it keenly.”
“The takeaway is that it was not a fluke…For me let’s work within the period that the consultant has mentioned.”
