The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that it will not be complacent with the report by Fitch Solutions, which forecasts a win for the party’s flagbearer, John Mahama.
Fitch Solutions, an international research and data firm, has stated that the NDC is in a strong position to secure victory in the December polls.
According to the London-based firm, 54% of respondents surveyed believe the former president will emerge victorious in the upcoming election.
However, the party’s Deputy General Secretary, Mustapha Gbande, in an interview with Citi FM while acknowledging the report emphasised that they will not take the forecast for granted.
He stated that it’s refreshing to see scholars justifying their hard work on the ground. Gbande expressed confidence in their victory, citing that even the NPP acknowledges their lead.
“I think it’s more refreshing. Even the devil knows that His Excellency John Dramani Mahama will win this election, the NPP themselves know. National Security is aware, they briefed his excellency Akufo-Addo that they are losing the election, and BNI is aware that they are losing.
“It is an act of insincerity and people who will not just admit that they can win the 2024 election. It’s an impossible one.”
“Clearly, we will come to power, but we will not go to sleep because a report has put us ahead. What we are doing is to work hard. As I told you, the flagbearer is on the field with the leadership of the party focused and giving Ghanaians hope.
“That is the most important thing. But we are refreshed and excited that beyond what we are doing on the ground, scholars are justifying and showing the way that his excellency John Dramani Mahama by the grace of God will be crowned as president come December.”
