The 66 Artillery Regiment has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the Volta and Oti Regions, despite the challenges posed by insurgencies over recent years.
At a colourful ceremony to handover the baton of office to Lieutenant Colonel Jala Lidin Ibrahim as the new Commanding Officer of the 66 Artillery Regiment in Ho, the outgoing Commanding Officer, Lt. Col. Edward Sarpong Appiah said the Regiment has successfully implemented strategies in combating insurgencies in the Volta and Oti Regions.
“Under my command, the regimen has played its role to ensure peace and security in the Volta and Oti Regions, and with the support from the Security High Command, the regiment adopted appropriate strategies to deny freedom of action of any perpetrator of criminal activities in any of these two regions.”
He assured the people of the Volta and Oti Regions that, the “66 Artillery Regiment will continue to protect and defend the citizens of the two regions from any group of individuals who attempt to destabilise these two regions.”
