A man believed to be in his late thirties is in the grips of the Anyaa District Police Command for allegedly inflicting machete wounds on his wife which led to her death.
The incident occurred at Ablekuma Borkorborkor Israel in the Greater Accra Region.
According to an eyewitness, the woman was rushed to the Ablekuma Hospital where she died. Her body was later deposited at the Korle Bu morgue after she was pronounced dead.
It is unclear what led to the attack, but eyewitnesses say the culprit attempted committing suicide when he was arrested.

The Brong Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley-Oppong, said they received a report from brothers of the victim about the attack.
“Nwabeng and Ocloo Christian, came to the station at about 2:38pm to report that they heard their sister screaming for help from her room, and rushed to the scene to find her lying in a pool of blood with severe machete wounds on her body, and mentioned suspect Samuel Antwi Boasiako as the one who attacked her”, he explained.
