Cabinet will in the next few days adopt a new policy which outlines incentives for multinational companies willing to invest in Ghana.
This according to President Akufo-Addo, has become necessary because the government wants to partner the private sector to accelerate the country’s development.
In recent times, international firms such as Siemens, Nissan, Sinotruck, Renault and Volkswagen, have all declared their intention to set up an assembling plant in Ghana, a move government says shows that the country is the place to invest.

“We have this policy which will make it clear to all investors within the industry. What are some of the financial incentives that the government is prepared to offer? I think any time from now, it is ready for the cabinet. So on Wednesday, the cabinet will meet for final adoption.”
Inflow of foreign investment shows we’re progressing – Nana Addo
President Akufo-Addo has said the show of interest by multinational companies in doing business in Ghana indicates that the country is on the path of progress.
According to him, the government has put in place adequate measures to attract more investors into the country hence the rush.
“We are not resting on our oars; we are continuing to work hard to attract domestic and international investments into Ghana so we can unleash the sense of enterprise, creativity, and innovation of the Ghanaian people.”
“Under my leadership, we are determined to discard the mindset of dependence on aid, charity and handouts, and aim towards becoming self-reliant, within the context of strong global co-operation. This to help my government’s vision of moving our country to a situation beyond aid, i.e. a ‘Ghana Beyond Aid”, he said.
