There was something available for everyone at the 2019 edition of Citi FM’s Music of Ghanaian Origin (MOGO) concert at the National Theatre in Accra, on Saturday.
The event was not just advertised as a celebration of indigenous Ghanaian Music, but also as the biggest musical concert for the first quarter of the year.
Legend, Amandzeba made a statement for the best of Ghanaian highlife music when indeed, thrilled patrons with unending dazzling beats and tunes from the past.
The audience couldn’t have expected less from Kwabena Kwabena, the man, who is well known as a flawless live-band performer.
Kwan Pa before their main performance that stole the show, served a good dose of undiluted highlife songs in the foyer where patrons tested the dancing feet before they hit the main auditorium for the long night of quality performances.
Bessa Simons relived the best of Osibisa, one of Ghana’s most prolific afrobeat band.
The ‘Gyata Bi’ singer Adane Best dished the exciting and authentic Ga songs he is known for with an electric performance.
Kofi Boakye Yiadom, also known as Kofi B lit the room with his love songs.
Akwaboah Gladstorm’s performance at the 2019 edition of the Music of Ghanaian Origin (MOGO) concert was just fabulous.
The Citi FM MOGO brand has over the years promoted authentic music of Ghanaian origin and celebrated the biggest names in highlife music.
Patrons could not also hide their excitement as they danced to the great tunes performed by K.K Kabobo.
Nkyinkyim Band opened the concert after which Afro Soul artiste, Cina Soul performed.
MOGO forms part of activities lined up to mark Citi FM’s Heritage Month which is held in the month of March every year to celebrate Ghana’s culture, heritage and to promote tourism.
Earlier was Heritage Caravan and the Accra Music Expo where indigenous Ga music was celebrated.
