Three former Members of Parliament in the New Juaben South Constituency have joined the campaign team of the parliamentary candidate-elect for the New Patriotic Party in the New Juaben South Constituency (NPP), Michael Okyere Kofi Baafi.
The former legislators, including the sitting MP who doubles as chairman of the Finance Committee in Parliament, Mark Assibey-Yeboah who are leading the party’s advisory committee in the constituency, among other things, have also been tasked to coordinate affairs to ensure the party maximizes both parliamentary and presidential votes to get Michael Kofi Baafi elected and President Akufo-Addo retained in office.
Addressing a gathering at the grand launch of the campaign team members in Koforidua, Yaw Barima, the first MP for the constituency, urged all members to “go all out and campaign on our achievements.”
“We have achieved a lot in this 4 years and it’s very important that Ghanaians are made aware of these achievements so the onus is on us to go out there and campaign on all the achievements of the NPP, remind the electorate of what we have done and the need for them to give President Akufo-Addo another term in office and vote for Michael Okyere Baafi to represent us in Parliament. We should not be complacent going into the elections but work hard and leave no stone unturned”.
Madam Beatrice Boateng, also a former MP, who took her turn to address the gathering called on all party members to put their hands on deck to ensure a resounding victory for the NPP.
“Things have changed because of COVID-19 and we are not in normal times hence the need for us to change our usual strategies and adjust by going to schools, churches, homes to let them know why we have to re-elect President Akufo-Addo and give him another 4 years in office and also elect Michael Kofi Okyere Baafi as the parliamentary candidate to change the fortunes of the constituency”.
Other notable members of the campaign team include the NPP Constituency Chairman, Kwame Boamah Dwira, New Juaben South MCE, Isaac Appau Gyasi and the Regional Director of MASLOC, Madame Alfreda Aboagye.
