On Season 9, Episode 10 of the Vodafone Healthline Series, panellists sought to explore whether sweating while working out leads to the burning of fat in the body.
Senior Cardiologist, Aba Folson was of the view that sweating while working out does not necessarily lead to the burning of fat.
“The sweating is not indicative of how much fat you are burning per se because people sweat differently depending on what you are doing and several factors determine how much heat.”
Another Health Practitioner, Kwekuma Yalley said working out could cause some heat which could lead to sweating.
He however indicated that sweating while working out is not a sign of burning fat.
The next part of the show shed the light on the predicament of Nashira whose face was deformed after she was badly burnt.
Her neck was also broken from the burns.
Vodafone financially supported her to undergo surgery.
Head of the Department of Child Health, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Victoria Adebayeri was also on the show to discuss allergies.
She said allergies can be “carried from childhood to adulthood and “can occur if the immune system is challenged.”
“Allergies never go. If you expose yourself to the same factors that cause allergies, it could be triggered,” she added.
The show ended with a few exercises with fitness coach, Maabena.
