A team from the Kandifo Institute has paid courtesy calls on the Ambassadors of Spain, Czech Republic, South Africa, Mexico and Peru.
The visits began on Friday, April 30, 2021, and ended on May 14, 2021.
The Executive Director of the youth-oriented research think-tank, Mr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, together with the Board Chairman of Kandifo Institute, Dr. Kodjo Mensah-Abrampah visited the Spanish Ambassador, Her Excellency Alicia Perez and the Deputy Head of Missions, His Excellency Rafael Rodriguez Ponga at the Spanish Embassy.
Mr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah together with the Head of Policy and Strategy of the Institute, Mr. Patrick Nyarko and the Diplomatic Relations Officer, Esther Danso later visited the Czech Ambassador at the Czech Embassy.
The Czech Ambassador stressed the importance to have an avenue created for the youth to vent out their concerns.
In the meeting with the Mexican Ambassador to Ghana, Enrique Escorza, the Deputy Head of Missions for Mexico, Felipe a Gonzalez and the Head of Consular and Cultural Affairs, H.E. Alejandra Salazar, which was held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, the ambassador mentioned that Mexico intends to engage the youth in diverse ways.
He also stated the intention to engage further with local communities through art and gastronomy as they mark 60 years of relations between Mexico and Ghana.
He indicated that there are various opportunities and scholarships for foreign students to study in Mexico especially at the postgraduate level.
After the visit to the Mexican Embassy, the Kandifo team visited the South African Embassy on the same day, May 11, 2021.
Kandifo Institute and the South African High Commissioner, Grace Jeanat Mason had a dialogue on the opportunities both nations could create for their youth.
The last visit took place on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at the Peruvian Embassy.
The meeting with the Head of Missions of Peru, Abel Antonio Cardenas Tuppia was also eventful.
The Ambassador shed some light on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the people of Peru.
He further expressed eagerness in building strong relations with the people of Ghana.
