The campaign team of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), says they will review the commentary that will follow the Global InfoAnalytics survey that placed Dr. Bawumia as the preferred candidate to lead the party in the 2024 polls.
A new survey by Global InfoAnalytics and Citi TV/Citi FM conducted among New Patriotic Party delegates revealed that Dr. Bawumia leads his contenders.
According to the survey, Dr. Bawumia leads with 34.8% of the votes, followed by a former Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kyerematen, with 27.9%, and Kennedy Agyapong, with 12.5%.
Responding to the political poll, in an interview on the Eyewitness News with Umaru Sanda Amadu, a member of Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, said that while they do not discount polls, they will adjust their campaign accordingly based on the commentary that comes out of the poll.
“We are very focused, and we have about 2,000 party executives that we are counting on to win this primary. The most important thing is to improve. We want to understand how we are doing as a campaign team and make sure we are connecting with the voters and giving them compelling reasons why they should vote for the vice president.
Dennis Miracles Aboagye further underscored, “There are several surveys that are ongoing, from various quarters, and we will not discount any of them. However, the numbers are not so important to us. What is important to us at this point is the commentary that comes with these surveys. We will review them, and if we find them useful, we will adjust accordingly and make sure we get things right.”
He stressed that the team will take a cue from the poll by Global InfoAnalytics.
“We will take a cue from the survey and pay attention to the details, and then we will only review to improve,” he noted.
Dennis Miracles Aboagye expressed optimism that the team will be able to improve on its campaign once Dr. Bawumia starts his campaign.
“If the numbers are looking this way, we are quite optimistic that once the vice president hits the ground and starts engaging the delegates, we should be able to improve much more than we are doing now,” he envisaged.
The vice president will officially submit his nomination forms on Friday, June 16.
