Students and staff of the Asante Mampong Technical College of Education (MAMTECH) are living in fear following the invasion of snakes.

He attributed it to the recent rainfall and said the authorities are putting measures in place to address the problem.
Mr Collins Kesseh, the Municipal hospital administrator, confirmed the reported cases of snake bites by the students and said all of them had been treated and discharged.
He said the hospital had enough serum for snake bites.

A similar incident occurred at Karaga M/A Junior High School in the Nanumba North Municipality of the Northern Region when students and teachers of the school who had returned from their vacation were welcomed to the school by snakes in the classrooms.
The Assistant Headmaster of the School, Abdulai Alhassan, told Citi News that the situation had affected academic work.
While blaming the situation on the thatched building and how open the classroom was to reptiles, he appealed to the Municipal Assembly and other organisations to come to the aid of the school by supporting it to put up a befitting school block.
“We came to school this morning for the reopening of the school. I asked especially the final year students to go into their classroom for us to discuss some past questions. When they went in, a student went to sit on her chair, and her colleague shouted at her “don’t sit snake”, and they started running and shouting, but they managed to kill it.”
“This situation is severely affecting academic activities because even we the teachers are afraid when teaching because you don’t know when a snake will fall on you.
