As part of efforts to fight crime during the yuletide, the Kasoa Divisional Police Command in the Central Region has launched what it calls ‘Operation Father Christmas’ as a measure to curtail crime in the region.
This operation is normally replicated nationwide as various police units intensify security measures due to the Christmas holidays.
Speaking to Citi News, ACP David Agyemang, the Kasoa Divisional Police Commander, assured residents of a peaceful festive season.
As part of the sensitization exercise, police personnel went on a procession through some principal streets of Kasoa, and distributed complimentary cards with emergency contact numbers.
ACP Agyeman said they will pay more attention to areas noted as flash points in terms of crime.
“We will position our men at flash points in the municipality to make sure that nothing untoward happens in terms of violence. It will help us connect with the public during the festivities, and also give the Police the opportunity to identify criminals.”
He also charged the citizenry to be security conscious during the festivities in order to have a safer Christmas.
