The management of MTN has urged patrons of various festivals in the country to respect the values and traditions of the lands hosting the celebrations.
For some time now, various festivities have been characterised with indecent exposure, lawlessness and disrespect for culture and traditions of the land.
Peter Bimpeh, the Senior Manager for South East General Trade at MTN, in an interview with Citi News, called on patrons of festivals to promote culture instead of social vices.
This was after the presentation of some items to the Chiefs and people of Akyem Tafo as part of the company’s social corporate responsibility to mark the 2019 Ohum festival.
“The core of celebration of our festivals is to promote culture so I think the concentration should be on the promotion of our culture and not any other thing. Festivals these days are being characterized with a lot of indecencies which are opposite to our culture and traditions.”
“We are promoting our culture and such everyone should come on board and know we are promoting our culture and not any other thing like social vices,” Mr. Bimpeh said.
MTN supported the Akyem Tafo Traditional Authority with GHC 5,000.00, a hamper with assorted drinks worth GHC 1,000.00 and airtime worth GHC 500.00.
