The Omanhene of Mpuasu Japekrom Traditional Area in the Jaman South District of the Bono Region, Nana Amoa Aturu Nkonkonkyia II, has inaugurated a committee to ensure the construction of a community hospital.
The 100-bed capacity Japekrom Community Hospital is an initiative of Nana Amoa Aturu Nkonkonkyia II.
Speaking at the inauguration of the committee, Nana Nana Amoa Aturu Nkonkonkyia II indicated that with the increasing population and pressure on the St Mary’s Hospital at Drobo, he was motivated to initiate the project.
He has therefore released 10 acres of land for the project.
The chief urged the government to come and support the project which he believes would go a long way to improve healthcare delivery Japekrom and its environs.
Nana Nkonkonkyia II indicated that the hospital would be ready for use by June 2020.
He urged the indigenes of Japekrom far and near to support the construction of the facility.
The 13- member committee includes; Nana Ankamah Bosomtwe, Mr Emmanuel Yeboah, Dr Paul Osei Brafi, Mr. Kwaku Yeboah, Mr. Yaw Owusu-Brefo, Nana Oppong Kyeremeh, Mr Augustine Ansu, Mr Afful Ibrahim, Mr Samuel Obeng, Saddick Adams, Mr. Anthony Boateng, Mr Amankona Justice and Mr Karim Yeboah.
Alexander Awuah, Deputy Managing Director Apex Bank Ghana speaking at the ceremony commended the Omanhene of Japekrom for the initiative and admonished the citizens to support the construction of the hospital.
Mr. Obeng Takyi, aid to the Member of Parliament for Jaman South Constituency, said the MP has so far improved health facilities in the district.
He noted that the Member of Parliament for the area would support the construction of the facility adding that the MP has so far sponsored the training of medical doctors from the area who would support health delivery.
