Members of the Police Wives Association have visited the families of Lance Corporal Mohammed Awal and Sargent Michael Dameshi, who were killed in the line of duty at Gomoa Budumburam in the Central Region.
The Association led by Regina Oppong Boanuh, wife of the acting Inspector General of Police presented an undisclosed amount of money to the bereaved families while commensurating with them.
Speaking to Citi News, Regina Oppong Boanuh, president of the Police Wives Association indicated that the gesture was meant to sympathize with the bereaved families.
“I know that the slain police officers left behind wife and children and it is my hope and prayer that God protect and guide them throughout their endeavours.”
She indicated that they will continue to rally support for the wives and families of the slain police officers until the killers are dealt with by the laws of the land.
“We are hoping that the perpetrators of this crime will be made to face the law as the main suspect in the shooting incident has been arrested,” Regina Oppong Boanuh said.
Some other individuals who accompanied the wife of the Inspector General of Police during her visit included Charles Kofi Adu, the Kasoa Divisional Police Commander, MTTD Commander, William Abisah and some members of the Police Wives Association.
