Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin has donated an amount GHS50,000 and 50,000 posters as well as 1,000 T-shirts to the New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya West, George Andah.
The gesture, which took place on 11th October 2020 according to Mr. Arhin is aimed at helping the party retain the seat ahead of the December polls.
“The Awutu Senya West seat is not traditionally ours. We won it in 2016 and as the 2020 election draws closer, we must do all we can to retain it and increase our votes,” Mr. Arhin said in an interview.
He added that “the NPP as a political party must support each other. There are some seats which can not be toiled with and Awutu Senya West is one of them”.
The MP, George Andah who was excited about the gesture thanked Eugene Arhin for the support and promised to retain the seat for the NPP.
From the Awutu Senya West constituency, a similar donation was done in the Ledzokuku constituency where Mr. Arhin presented 5,000 posters and 1,000 T-shirts to support the campaign of the MP, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye.
Traditionally, no political party has been able to retain the Ledzokuku seat since its creation.
But Mr. Arhin is optimistic Dr. Okoe Boye can do that.
“Dr. Oko Boye will make history in this constituency. He will be the first MP to win the seat back to back. That is why he needs our support”.
He added that: “I know Dr. Okoe Boye very well. His energy and zeal are beyond this earth and with that determination, he will retain this seat”.
This is not the first time Eugene Arhin is supporting NPP parliamentary candidates in the country.
A few weeks ago, he donated 10 motorbikes, posters and T-shirts to support the campaign of Madam Ophelia Quansah, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Mfantseman who is replacing her late husband on the ballot.
