The 2nd Image International Skills College has held its 20th graduation for 199 students at the Osu Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Accra.
The Executive Director and CEO of 2nd Image International Skills College, Nikki Boa-Amponsem in her address advised students to emulate their predecessors in being ambassadors of the college by upholding both technical and soft skills learned.
“2nd Image’s main aim is to empower you to succeed because the youth has to be empowered. You need to have skills and 2nd Image has been doing that for the past 34 years. We are so proud of our graduates who are already in the system and have been perfect ambassadors. A lot of people are emulating and catching up. We thank the parents who had confidence in us and paid for you to go through this training.”, Nikki Boa-Amponsem said.
The college during the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020 underwent reformations notably the creation of e-learning platforms for students and teachers.
“I know my staff have worked very hard especially during the pandemic where we have to do a lot of e-learning and some of you took advantage of it. Some of you have even acquired some ICT skills to be able to do this and we are proud of you. Because now we’ve installed the permanent e-learning platform for those who come after you where they can go to the portal and use the materials,” she said.
The college offers programs such as Hair Dressing, Kati Body Massage, Nail Technician Certificate, Intensive Bridal Makeup Certificate, Cosmetology Certificate, Beautician, Spa Therapy, Beauty And Spa Therapy, Beauty Specialist Diploma, Cosmetology Diploma, Diploma In Fashion And Designing, Tech Body Therapy Diploma and Hair Dressing Diploma.
Representatives from COVET and National Youth Authority called on graduands to continuously upgrade their skills to remain relevant in the industry.
