Citi FM and Citi TV as part of their annual Easter Orphan Project has donated food items and an amount of GHS10,000 to HopeWay Ministries Children’s Home at Haatso in Accra.
This is the 11th time the media house is putting smiles on the faces of the children of the home.
The donations were largely contributions from listeners and viewers of the station.
The items donated included water, disposable face masks, sanitizers, footballs, bags of rice, gari, and other food items.
Human Resource Manager of Citi FM/Citi TV, Jennifer Anane-Nsiah while handing over the items on Monday, April 5, 2021, assured the children that the station will continue to support them.
She said although 2020 was a tough year for many people due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the generous donations and contributions of the company’s listeners and viewers made the project possible.
“2020 was a tough year. The pandemic hit us so hard and by the grace of God and the kindness of our listeners and viewers, they have donated in ways that we never expected them to do. We have drinks, face masks, rice, soccer balls, water among others. We are here today to present these things that our listeners have donated to us… and also present a cheque of GHS10,000,” she said.
Executive Director of HopeWay Ministries Children’s Home, Pastor Reindorf Ashley expressed his deepest gratitude to management and listeners of Citi FM for the invaluable essentials.
“We want to say a big thank you to you. For the past almost 11 years we’ve had a good cordial relationship with Citi FM… Thank you and God bless you.”
Every Easter, Citi FM/Citi TV solicits food and general items from its listeners and corporate bodies to be donated to people who need it, including the Baptist School Complex Orphanage (BASCO) at Trotor near Suhum in the Eastern Region and HopeWay Ministries Children’s Home, formerly known as Handivangelism Home at Haatso in Accra under a project named the Easter Orphan Project.
