A delegation from the national energy transition team led by the Deputy Energy Minister, Andrew Egyapa Mercer called on the Oti Regional Minister, Dr. Josuah Makubu earlier today, Tuesday.
This courtesy call was on the back of the regional stakeholder engagements that have been organised by the ministry across all the 16 regions.
Mr. Mercer shared with the Minister, the goal of the transition agenda, and the ministry’s expectation, as a stakeholder engagement was to take place later in the morning.
The regional minister, M.r Makubu expressed his gratitude for such an honour, but underscored the need for the ministry to attend to the needs of his people regarding electricity coverage.
Later that morning, the delegation engaged representatives of the region at the forum on the government’s aim for the energy transition and the role they, as the administrative body on the local level, can play.
At the end of the panel discussion, all and sundry lauded the ministry and government as a whole, for envisaging the need for this swift transition and assured the ministry of their support in this agenda.
The National Energy Transition Team ends its tour with this visit to the Oti region, after touring the other fifteen regions in Ghana. After this, all the responses and contributions of stakeholders would form a part of a policy document for Ghana’s transition.
