Iconic Ghanaian Afro-dancehall artiste , Stonebwoy is currently promoting his 5th Dimension mega album.
The album which was released on April 28 is a collection of sounds that showcase the Grammy nominee’s ability to seamlessly fuse different genres and cultures into his music.
The 17-tracked album features both local and international artists such as British rapper Stormzy, Grammy award-winner and African singer Angelique Kidjo, Iconic Nigerian Afrobeats singer Davido, South African DJ Maphorisa, and Jamaican reggae rapper Shaggy, among others.
Ever since the album was dropped, the track that has really won the hearts of most music enthusiasts and connoisseurs of the Ghanaian music industry is” Manodzi.”
‘Manodzi’, which is track 17 on the album, features multiple Grammy-award-winning African artiste Angelique Kidjo.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Citi 97.3 FM’s Breakfast Show, Stonebwoy, who was answering a question in line with how he was able to get the legendary African songstress featured on the song said:
“I had already wanted to feature her [Angelique Kidjo] but I came into contact with her through Dentaa. There was a program here and Dentaa brought her, so immediately I saw her. I tapped Dentaa and told her I wanted to feature her [Angelique Kidjoe] then she linked her to me”.
According to the ‘Therapy’ crooner, “When I discussed the collaboration with her [Angelique Kidjo], she never complained. When she went back, she sent me her verse and that was how the song was done”.
Stonebwoy extensively sprung the milieu behind the song, recounting the experience that propelled him to create this edifying canticle.
Known in real life as Akosua Dentaa Amoateng MBE, Dentaa, is a British Ghanaian entrepreneur, actress, TV presenter, singer, producer and manager.
