Four additional young victims have come forward, providing harrowing accounts of their experiences in the defilement trial before the Wa Circuit Court.
The disturbing revelations unfolded at the Court today, where the four underage girls testified against the 35-year-old man accused of paedophilia.
The accused, Ahmed Rashid, is currently standing trial for defiling and attempting to defile a total of 12 children in Wa.
Among the new witnesses, one particularly heart-wrenching detail emerged where a niece of the accused, Ahmed Rashid, bravely recounted her ordeal on the stand.
As in previous hearings, today’s session was held in-camera to protect the identities of the minors involved.
These young children took turns narrating how 35-year-old Ahmed Rashid, known as “Anaata,” allegedly manipulated and coerced them into a series of deeply distressing sexual encounters.
According to the principal state attorney, Saeed Abdul-Shakur, the court was originally slated to hear testimonies from a medical doctor and a police investigator.
However, the gravity of the victims’ stories prompted a shift in focus toward these emotional accounts when the two gave reasons why they could not be in court.
The proceedings were adjourned until tomorrow, as more victims are expected to take the stand and share their experiences.
This ongoing trial serves as a stark reminder of the importance of addressing and preventing such heinous crimes against minors.
