ASA Savings and Loans Limited through its Cape Coast (Petrol) branch has presented items to Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind in the Central Region to aid teaching and learning.
The items are three sewing machines, one box of energy-saving bulbs,10 packs of toilet rolls, one 50 kg bag of sugar, one bag of flour, and two pieces of LED street bulbs.
The others are 10 plastic chairs, boxes of soaps and detergent History, Religious and Moral Education (RME), Information Communication Technology (ICT), Mathematics as well as Creative Art and Design textbooks for all students.
Mr. Abraham Annan Yemoson, Headmaster of Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind who received the items was grateful to the company for the assistance.
“We depend on government for support which is not sufficient; your donation is timely, we are appealing to philanthropists and other institutions to also assist us, especially in feeding our students.”
Mr. Dennis Amofa-Adarkwa, Area Manager of ASA Savings and Loans Limited said institutions such as the school for the Deaf and Blind and other Special Schools need support from all to be able to stay in school and learn.
“This is also our Social Investment Intervention since they are within our catchment area and we will continue to support government in providing quality education in the country,” he said.
Mr. Prince Amoah, Branch Manager of the company added that “our support, is to give better care to the students who need special assistance.”
He urged the management of the school to use the items presented for its purpose.
