The Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Ghana (PMAG) has supported Citi FM/Citi TV’s #Relief4LowerVolta campaign with a wide range of medications.
Making the donation at the premises of Citi TV in Tesano, the Executive Secretary of PMAG, Lucia Addae-Ntiri, expressed the sympathies of the Association to the people affected by the spillage of the dam and indicated that the donation is to help cater to the health needs of the people.
The Executive Director also applauded Citi FM/Citi TV for coming up with the initiative to help alleviate the suffering of the affected persons.
“The Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association has become aware of the fact that some of our friends and family in the Volta Region and the Oti Region are affected by the spillage of the Akosombo Dam, and we cannot look the other way. It is important that we support people in these difficult times, and that is why we have come to partner with Citi FM/Citi TV to ensure that this becomes a reality. We are pleased to support with the products that we make and ensure that any health medication they will need is being taken care of.”
Some of the items donated included: infusions, painkillers, anti-helmentics, anti-malaria, haematinics, anti-hypertensive medicines amongst others.
Citi FM/Citi TV commenced the #Relief4LowerVolta campaign to mobilize relief items for the people affected and subsequently began ‘OperationRebuild,’ which is aimed at building resettlement centers for the people.
