The Chief Executive of the National Youth Authority (NYA) and parliamentary candidate-elect for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asuogyaman Constituency of the Eastern Region, Pius Enam Hadzide, has articulated his commitment to strategically target all National Democratic Congress (NDC) strongholds in the Asuogyaman Constituency ahead of the 2024 general elections.
He has vowed to reduce NDC strongholds to the status of microfinance groups.
Pius Enam Hadzide described his victory as a call to serve, urging the past 2020 parliamentary candidate of the NPP, Paul Ansah, and two others who contested during the just-ended orphan constituency elections to support his candidature.
He assured to increase his party’s votes in areas in the constituency identified as strongholds of the NDC, a move which he believes will make an emphatic statement that the Asuogyaman Constituency is ready to embrace development.
Since the democratic dispensation, the NDC has won the Asuogyaman seat for a record 6 times, with the NPP winning the seat twice.
Even though the Asuogyaman Constituency has in recent times been seen as a swing seat, Pius Enam Hadzide will have to surmount competition from the current MP Thomas Ampem Nyarko, who is seeking a 3rd term in parliament.
In an exclusive interview with Citi News, Pius Enam Hadzide revealed plans to strategically target and capture notable NDC strongholds in the constituency to the advantage of his party in 2024.
“I will collaborate with my senior brothers who gave me stiff competition, and together we will ensure a massive victory for both the presidential candidate and my good self, the parliamentary candidate for the NPP in the elections of 2024. And I shall do that by severely attacking the NDC stronghold, and I shall also strengthen and build the base of our strongholds alongside.
In so doing, maximize the numbers while we destroy the NDC’s strongholds and reduce them to microfinance branches. I’m humbled and believe that the voice of the people is the voice of God and is a good service we are going to provide to the people of Ghana.”
“The people of Asuogyaman are all wonderful people who deserve better; they deserve good roads, jobs, and beautiful social amenities. They need to be included in all aspects which have been missing in the Constituency for a very long time, and together we will ensure we serve them well for them to enjoy all these things.”
