EduSpots is set to hold its national conference in Accra from January 3rd to 6th, 2024.
EduSpots is a grassroots movement that connects, trains, and equips 250 volunteers to create and sustain educational opportunities for over 10,000 learners in underserved communities through 50 community-led spaces named ‘Spots.’
The event promises to be a landmark occasion, uniting EduSpots’ volunteers, partners, advisors, and supporters to honour the outstanding efforts of Catalysts graduating from the Ignite Programme.
The conference will assemble 80 local Catalysts from various regions of Ghana for a two-day intensive training session designed to enhance their ability to organize and conduct local events at their respective ‘Spots.’
These events are expected to reach over 250 Catalysts, impacting an estimated 10,000+ learners.
The agenda also includes discussions on EduSpots’ long-term strategic plan and essential safeguarding training for Catalysts.
In May 2023, EduSpots launched the Ignite Programme, a pioneering initiative that has since empowered over 250 Catalysts with collaborative training in critical educational areas. The upcoming conference marks the midpoint of the two-year programme, celebrating the Catalysts’ community achievements with a graduation ceremony and annual awards.
The climax of the conference will be the graduation and awards night, featuring a keynote address by esteemed educator and advocate, Professor Elsie Effah Kaufmann. Mohammed Fuseini, a Catalyst from Dulugu, expressed his anticipation for the event, highlighting the opportunity to meet Professor Kaufmann as a source of inspiration.
Catherine Davison, CEO of EduSpots, reflected on the significance of the conference, stating, “This is the first time in eight years that our most dedicated volunteers will gather to celebrate their successes and engage in advanced leadership training, further enabling them to drive change at their Spots.”
The EduSpots National Conference is poised to be a pivotal moment in the charity’s history, reinforcing its commitment to empowering local volunteers and fostering sustainable educational development in Ghana.
