The Founder and General Overseer of Triumphant Church International Commission, Reverend Joseph Evans Amoako Otchere, has been consecrated as a Bishop by the Association of Bishops and Apostles of Ghana at a ceremony at the auditorium of the Triumphant Church in Obuasi.
The ceremony, graced by Archbishop Emeritus Dan Yinka Sarfo, former Anglican Bishop of Kumasi and Metropolitan Archbishop of Ghana, as well as other revered men of God, saw the participation of numerous religious leaders.
The consecration ceremony was conducted by His Lordship Bishop Dr. Maxwell Paul Appiah.
Archbishop Emeritus Yinka Sarfo, delivering his message, expressed excitement that despite the challenges in the Kingdom, men and women continue to brave the storm and do God’s work, winning souls for Christ.
He admonished the gathering that ascension to the Bishopric is a high call to service with additional responsibilities. He appealed to Bishops and men of God to be humble and lead a Christlike life, encouraging young ones to enter into the pastoral world since more blessings await them.
In an interview with the media after the ceremony, the newly consecrated Bishop, Joseph Evans Amoako Otchere, said his upliftment in the work of God is a testament to long years of dedication, perseverance, and commitment to the service of God.
He appealed to up-and-coming men of God to concentrate on winning souls for Christ and not follow the money. He said, “I wouldn’t have been a man of God or a full gospel minister if it was all about money. I left my well-paying job at Ashanti Goldfields Corporation to do God’s work.”
He charged politicians to put much effort into developing the country. According to him, the perception among people out there is that “Africa is a lost continent,” bemoaning the fact that not much has been done to change the narrative.
Meanwhile, he implored leaders of the political parties to embrace God’s word and look at how best to develop the country. He also advised the youth to stay away from election-related violence and eschew all forms of malpractice during elections.
