The reigning TGMA Artiste of the Year, Stonebwoy, has stated emphatically that he did not release his latest album, ‘Up & Running,’ due to  Grammy Awards.

Known in real life as Livingstone Etsa Satekla, Stonebwoy is one of the numerous Ghanaian artistes who are yet to earn a Grammy nomination. In 2023, he missed out narrowly on the nomination slot with his 5th Dimension album.

On Wednesday, October 23, the ‘Hero’ crooner officially released his highly anticipated new album, “Up & Running.” The album features the monster hit “Jejereje,” unveiled at a glamorous listening party held at the Alora Beach Resort inside Laboma Beach in Accra.

The star-studded ‘Up & Running’ album release listening party was attended by a host of celebrities, including former Shatta Wale manager Bullgod, actress Nadia Buari, TV personality Nana Mcbrown, rapper Kwaw Kese, and musician D-Black.

His wife, Dr. Louisa Satekla, was also present to support her husband. Speaking to the press at the event, Stonebwoy who was answering a question from Channel One TV’s ‘Ekow Koomson with regards to whether he released the new album because of Grammy said: “God is my witness that I didn’t release the album because of Grammy”.

According to him, he has never released an album or a song simply because he wants to win an award. He acknowledged his near-miss for a Grammy nomination in 2023 with his “5th Dimension” album but stated that this experience did not influence his decision to release “Up & Running.”
