Member of Parliament for Tano North Constituency, Freda Prempeh believes she deserves another term in parliament for her good deeds and efforts in the constituency.
Speaking to the press on the campaign trail in her constituency, the legislator stressed she trusts in the delegates’ support to crown her with victory ahead of the NPP primaries scheduled for Saturday, January 27.
“Hundred percent support from my delegates, I don’t fear delegates, I trust my delegates, because have worked with them before, have lived with them I don’t impose decision on them. I take decisions with them and I know that they are going to crown me with my effort coming 27th January,” she said.
The three-term MP needs to beat Dr Gideon Boako, the spokesperson for the Vice President in the party primaries to secure a fourth term in parliament.
The Minister of Sanitation who is confident of victory says she is unperturbed because she has done a lot for her constituency.
“I have worked so hard in this constituency, have been able to sink and make 130 bore-holes, and have been able to construct 11 chips compound.”
“Have lobbied for about 25 educational facilitates, have done two AstroTurf’s in the constituency in terms of electricity the coverage of this constituency is over 85%,” she said.
Some of the delegates who promised another term for Freda Prempeh spoke up, citing the development she brought to Tano as the reason she should remain the MP.
“I want the woman to be retained because of the development she brought to us here, some men who came before her couldn’t perform this well,” one of them said.
“The woman is an MP who serves well.”
Meanwhile, some members of the media were taken on a tour of some of projects completed by the MP. They include 115 boreholes, 10 durbar grounds, one astro turf sports complex, provision of 1000 street lights, 200 solar streetlights to deprived communities, 11 chps compound, provision of 25 toilet facilities, provision of 25 schools, provision of 400,000 cashew seedlings to farmers and completion of a Fire Service Training school.
Other ongoing projects are national electricity grid (90 percent coverage), construction of the constituency office and construction of a 20-seater toilet facility at Terchire. At the Twewaho Nkwanta community, a mechanized bore-hole has been constructed, and electrical poles have been mounted for onward connection to the national grid.
She is also responsible for school feeding to basic schools and provision of scholarships to some 900 SHS students.
