Mustapha Gbande, the Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has asserted that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration has set the country back by two decades.
Mr Gbande alleges that the country has experienced its worst governance under President Akufo-Addo’s leadership.
In an interview with Selorm Adonoo on Eyewitness News on Citi FM on Wednesday, Mr Gbande expressed that while Ghanaians were celebrating their 67th year of independence, there was also a sense of sadness due to the perceived deterioration of the country, particularly over the past seven years.
“We are happy that we are 67 years old. We are equally sad that in the 67th year and in the last seven years we have seen the highest and heightened level of reckless corruption.
“Flagrant disregard to law and process, abuse of power in office. President Akufo-Addo has taken us 20 years backwards as a country.”
“President Akufo-Addo is the only president who is in power as president yet Ghanaians are crying- we haven’t eaten yet he says we should be jubilating, we should be excited,” he said.
