A delegation from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) under the leadership of former Ports and Harbour Authority Director, Mr. Richard Anamoo has presented resources to some registration centers for the ongoing Limited Registration exercise.
The team commenced the visits on Monday, May 13, initially touring centers within the Greater Accra region zoned as the Eastern corridor which includes Tema East, West Central and Ashaiman constituencies among others.
The initiative, according to the group, was to bolster efforts for the ongoing national exercise with prime focus on constituencies in the metropolis.
Other areas in the zone that received support from the group included Sege, Ada, Ningo-Prampram and Kpone Katamanso among others.
The team offered financial assistance and essential supplies such as drinking water, which according to them was vital for achieving a smooth and efficient registration process.
Mr. Anamoo said the move indicated the Party’s commitment to grassroots engagement and the importance of facilitating voter registration, noting how the donations would help alleviate some of the challenges faced during the registration period.
He added that by such an effort, the NDC aimed at encouraging maximum participation, ensuring that every eligible individual in the constituencies had the opportunity to register.
Speaking further about the group’s visit, Mr. Anamoo emphasized the significance of the registration exercise in strengthening democracy and empowering citizens to exercise their voting rights. “Our support is to support and motivate our constituents. We believe in the power of every single vote, and it’s our duty to ensure that no one is left out of the democratic process,” he stated.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the support, highlighting how the donations will help alleviate some of the challenges faced during the registration period. The initiative is not only geared toward providing immediate relief but also aimed at fostering a sense of unity and collective effort within the constituencies.
“My team’s proactive approach in supporting the registration centers reflects our Party’s broader strategy to engage with and support communities at every level,” Our Party remains committed to ensuring that the electoral process is inclusive and accessible, highlighting our core values of democracy and participation,” he asserted.
Mr. Anamoo and the delegation promised to continue their visits to other constituencies to provide any necessary support in alignment with the NDC’s efforts to make a significant impact before, during and after the upcoming general elections.
