The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has launched an investigation into the accident that injured seven firefighters in Kade, Eastern Region.
The firefighters are currently receiving medical attention at St. Dominic Catholic Hospital in Akwatia and the Kade Government Hospital.
The accident occurred on Sunday morning while the team was en route to an emergency at Otwenkwanta.
The fire department had received an emergency call at 08:37 hours, reporting a fuel tanker that had veered off the road.
The team was dispatched to the scene at 08:38 hours, but their fire engine was involved in an accident while navigating a curve past the Gaso filling station.
The GNFS has issued a statement expressing concern for the victims and their families, wishing them a speedy recovery.
The Authority has also announced that it is conducting a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident.
